Ice Chalk

Trystan and I got up and made Ice chalk this morning. It is equal parts water and cornstarch with food coloring. Trystan was very excited to try this and was really patient waiting for it to freeze. The colors don't show up great at first when writing with them. They look much brighter after they dry. Taylee was more interested in eating the ice... and Trystan just wanted to watch it melt than mixed the colors all together. They had a blast with it though. It looks like it was a huge mess but it sprayed right off with the hose and didn't stain anything. Of coarse when I turned the hose on It was Water fight time. Trystan did a great job of getting grandma and annie wet before they got in the truck to head back North.
Finally frozen and ready to go
It was nice and hot this afternoon so it melted very quickly
 Taylee's Chalk Mustache
 Mommy's Girl

 The masterpiece

These two love one another so much and are so sweet to one another 98% of the time! I love it. I hope they will always be best friends.
Taylee used her booty to make designs with the ice chalk :)

Taylee handed me her chalk after deciding it didn't taste very yummy.
Tomorrow we are going to use vinegar and baking soda to blow up balloons with a water bottle. Trystan is loving our "experiments" and it is so much fun to see him so excited to try different things every day. He also wants to repeat everything we have already done everyday too.

Grandma and Aunt Annie are Here!

My mom and Annie are staying in Cedar for the summer and are close enough to come play! We are loving it. Trystan and Taylee love their Grandma and Aunt and are very excited we will be seeing them lots this summer. Tuesday we played outside in the pool. Grandma and Aunt Annie were great sports and got in the freezing cold water with the kids. I manned the camera:)
This little girl loves the water and thanks to Grandma is now climbing in full clothed every time she goes out back!
 These are Trystan's Zombie glasses!
The attachment for the hose in Trystan's hand was Taylee's Pow-Pow (gun) she loves her brother's toy guns and knows exactly what to do with them!
Trystan had a great time drenching Grandma and Aunt Annie. So excited we get to play this summer.

Family Day at the Pool!

It's hot!!! No better way to beat the heat than staying poolside. Mikie is off this weekend and we are soooooo excited!!! We spent the Afternoon at the community pool. Trystan loves the little water slide and must have gone down it 100 times. Then he and daddy spent the later part of the afternoon down in the deeper end practicing his swimming. He is doing so well and I am so excited that he hasn't forgotten everything he learned from swimming lessons. Taylee did great for a while, but really wanted to go chase the birds, go down the big water slide and climb on the chairs!

She is saying cheese in this picture!
 My cute little people.
So tiny and petite, but she can be heard clear across the pool:)
Chilin on the cooler... two peas in a pod.
Daddy and his munchkins
Taylee trying on bubby's goggles. She got them on all by herself then let us all know they were hers "Mine, Mine" she says!
 Freezing cold
Daddy and bubby
We had a great time and all of us are worn out except for Trystan! What else is new Happy weekend everyone!!

I Spy...

Lot of things with my new glasses!! I have been having a hard time seeing clearly and things at a distance. My Astigmatism is back and I need glasses again to read, and drive at night! Funny how much clearer signs, being able to read the license plates on the car in front of me and being able to see the clock laying in bed! LOL seriously. Hopefully it will help with my headaches at work as well, but those my be due to work itself... We shall see, but for now it is great to have clear vision!

Bubble Snakes!

The kids and I made bubble snakes Thursday morning. The
rubber bands worked better to hold the socks on the water bottles. They were kind of cool for a few minutes. They were super easy to make and the kids had a blast playing with the food coloring. Taylee could even blow the bubbles with them. Trystan's entire arm was green by the time we were done and the whole thing ended in a water fight! but we had a great time.

The colored bubble water did not produce colored bubbles:( but it certainly turned everyone's hands and clothing fun colors!

Putting the food coloring directly on the sock and then dipping it in the bubble solution did make fun colored bubbles however!

Taylee giving her best shot at blowing bubbles!
Trystan was Hulk colored by the end
 My Mini Me!!

Trystan may not wear anything but his underwear all summer! and has figured out the hose is the best water fighting tool:) Taylee and I were soaked.

Ivory soap and the Microwave!

So our first experiment of the summer was to see what happens when you put a bar of Ivory soap in the microwave! I was a little nervous at first and afraid it would make a huge mess, it did make a little mess but it was so worth it! It was amazing!!! (The mess cleaned up easily too). I asked Trystan a few questions before we got started. I unwrapped the soap and handed it to him and asked him what it was his response was classic Trystan...
"I don't know what it is, smells like poop"
This was the look I got when I told him we were going to put it in the Microwave
Watching it cook and grow "Mom look its going to explode, I think it might blow up the microwave, Its going to grow bigger than our house! Let it cook longer lets see how big it can get! I think it will touch the moon"
"Eww its all foamy and crumbly!"
The final product. It kind of deflates as soon as you open the Microwave but it really is very cool to watch. Trystan loved it and we had to do it again when daddy got home so he could see the magic!

On Your Mark, Get Set, Go!

After taking a break from blogging for almost a year I am back! I started this new blog due to being almost out of space on the other one and to start fresh! The last year has flown by and has been quite the adventure with Trystan and Taylee! Yep she is a year old already and I have no idea where the time went. We have lots of fun things planned for this summer and I wanted to share it with all who are interested. I am terrible at sending pictures of my kids and who am I kidding, I have been terrible at taking pictures with anything but my phone.  So my goal is to have a ton of fun this summer, take lots of pictures of our fun and then write about it! So we kicked off our summer with a Luau Birthday party for our pretty girl. She didn't dig smashing her cake... she doesn't like stuff on her hands:) But the food was delicious, and we had fun with the family. The older kids had a huge water fight that almost ended up in my house :0 Luckily someone was setting in front of the door when my little sisters were attempting to drown one another with the hose!

Thanks to Uncle Kaysen, Trystan Scored an Awesome Water gun!

The week after Tay's Birthday we were off to St. Louis! Trystan was a Rockstar on the flight there and was so excited to be going to Grandma's and to play with his cousins. Everyone was going for Heather's wedding except Kaysen (He was the smart one). I did not take my camera, I have a few pictures on my phone, but have not uploaded them yet! Sorry. Mikie and I went to a Cardinals game, I had never been to one before, and am not a huge baseball fan, but the stadium is really nice and it was a  beautiful night and we had AMAZING seats thanks to Mike! There was way too much family drama, but the kids had tons of fun with their cousins. Sunday while everyone else went to church Mikie and I took the kids to the zoo. It was nice to just have an us day! Trystan loved it, Taylee not so much. Mikie got to experience driving home in a full blown midwest rain storm where you can't see the tail lights of the car directly in front of you! We were grateful the rain held out until we got to the car.
We also took the kids to The Magic House. Grandma and Aunt Annie came with us and we all had a great time. The rest of the week was spent in Grandma's basement shooting arrows, climbing polls, jumping on beds, and blowing lots and lots of bubbles. The flight home was awful, we were all done and ready to be home. Mikie and I both went back to work as soon as we got home, we took Trystan to the circus on Saturday and had so much fun watching him get so excited. We had a nice relaxing father's day with the best daddy in the world and we haven't seen him since. Mikie is super busy at work and is working from about 6am to 1or 2am. This too shall pass, In the mean time the kids and I are going to do so fun projects, Stay wet and keep cool for the summer. Stay tuned for our adventures!
